2023 mid-year review: IPOs
Today, Jim Hamilton's World of Securities Regulation examines the IPO market for the first six months of 2023, which saw 77 deals raise $10.5 billion, its worst first-half performance since 2016. John Filar Atwood looks at the factors that kept investors and IPO hopeful companies at bay, including rising inflation, and discusses the tech industry’s IPO troubles over the past two years. He identifies the first half’s largest deals, lists the top IPO industries, and tallies offerings by non-U.S. issuers. He also adds up the amount of IPO business completed between January and June and names the current leading IPO law firms and lead managers in the 2023 IPO Six-Month Review.
